Yo.
So, no pictures. Sorry folks, it's late and my contacts are drying out. It has been a good weekend, and I feel like I need to post about it as my way of pleasantly reminiscing.
Ryan went to Dallas for a few days last week for some sort of leadership convention with work. Now, I hate it when he leaves me. True, it has only happened once before in our almost two years of marriage, but still! As part of my desire to be a great wife, I just chatted about how much fun it would be, that nothing spices up a marriage with some "away" time, and I would update him with texts all the day long. What fun! Unfortunately, I ate a little bit of dairy (Tommy doesn't handle it too well) to see if I could get by with eating some here and there. Big mistake. I had a little boy who was in a lot of pain and wouldn't sleep for more than 30 minutes because of his gas pains. So here I was, guilt ridden and sleep deprived, without a husband to help. I tried keeping this unhappiness to myself. What was the point with letting the hubby know I was miserable and ruin his trip? Alas, the night before he came home I broke down in crocodile tears. Part of this might be due to the fact that we are dog sitting, and the "older" dog had a massive diarrhea episode inside the house. Ryan, bless his heart, soothed my tears and told me he would clean it all up when he got home. Yes, he really offered to do that. And yes, he does sweet things like that all the time. Do you see why I missed him so?
*There are those of you who have husbands who leave town often for military/business reasons, or are single mothers and I must tell you - you are better than me*
I picked him up the next evening, stressed from traffic and a hard week. Ryan took the wheel and drove us home where I promptly fell asleep at an early hour after a back rub and then slept in late the next morning. As promised, Ryan put Tommy to sleep after each feeding, allowing me some much needed sleep.
Now on to the great weekend part that I mentioned earlier! We had a great breakfast of crepes with our dear friends the Harris' and then enjoyed a quick dip in the pool. Then we visited Ryan's sister Hannah in the hospital (more on that later), then went home and took a long nap. We (I) had a relaxing evening doing homework (if that is even possible) while Ryan did laundry, cleaned the kitchen, and walked the dogs. Do you see why my weekend was awesome?
Then Sunday we blessed our beautiful baby boy, Thomas Michael Lorsch (more on that later). And again, I was able to see how blessed I am to have a wonderful husband and a healthy son. I am just so happy, so content, and so excited for this life I am living.
Now I must go. I have a husband who is asleep all snuggly in bed that really needs some cuddle time - he just doesn't know it yet!

First of all - yay for great weekends! We had one too, and it just seems to make the week ahead much more doable. :)
Also, you asked about the header on my blog. It's not customized at all (except for the text, obviously). It's from Shabby Blogs, but I've used Cutest Blog on the Block before. I can't really do the super fancy, scrapbook page-esque headers/backgrounds like other people do. I basically edit the header in Word (add text, pics, etc.) and then save it as a pdf which I can then convert to a jpeg. I have no idea if that's the "right" way to do it, but it's the only way I know how, and it works just fine. I can show you how, or send you detailed instructions sometime if the ones above are too vague! Let me know!

thats all.
yay for husbands to the rescue!
